In preparation for the new academic year, the University of Northern Philippines, through the Office of the Vice President for Academic Affairs, Office of the Director for Instruction and Faculty Development, and Human Resource Management Office, conducted an in-service seminar for faculty on 09 September 2022.

With the theme, โ€œPromoting Resiliency and Sound Mental Health and Optimizing Learning through Quality Teaching under the New Normalโ€, the seminar was one of the initiatives of the university to further empower the educators in these challenging times.

Engr. Angelica Q. Dolores, Supervising Education Program Specialist, CHED-RO1, served as the Keynote Speaker. Her message focused on the role of HEIโ€™s in optimizing quality learning through quality teaching.

โ€œAs educators, we will never be turned around because of this pandemic. This is to time to innovate, especially in the academe. We need to think of new ways to continue our services,โ€ she highlighted.

She also reminded everyone to continue nourishing their personal and professional lives.

In his message, Dr. Erwin F. Cadorna, UNP President, posited the aim of the seminar which is to enhance and emphasize quality teaching. โ€œThis has always been the mantra of our university: to deliver quality instruction,โ€ he said.

The President also extended his appreciation of the facultyโ€™s contribution in the continuous growth of the university.

โ€œTo the faculty, the university appreciates your role,โ€ he emphasized.

Topics covered in the seminar include UNP Towards Optimizing Quality Learning Through Quality Teaching: Way Forward which was discussed by Dr. Rolando B. Navarro, Vice President for Academic Affairs; and Promoting Resiliency and Sound Mental Health and Optimizing Learning through Quality Teaching under the New Normal discussed by Dr. Nhorly C. Domenden, Director, Wundt Psychological Institute, and Director, OSAS, Urdaneta City University.
