Abstract: The study aimed to design, develop, and evaluate a tourism information system called Viajefy, incorporating the TF-IDF algorithm and assessing its model performance. It employed Feature-Driven Development as the software development method. It utilized the Cross-Industry Standardized Process for Data Mining for the data mining process of the TF-IDF algorithm, serving as its recommender agent feature. The confusion matrix evaluation tool was used to assess the algorithm's performance, yielding an accuracy of 97%, a precision of 93%, and a recall of 90%. Results showed that the recommender agent of the software application was proven reliable based on the algorithm's performance criteria in terms of accuracy, precision, and recall, and the system received a Very Highly Acceptable rating of 4.74. This software application is one of the first studies along tourism information systems for Ilocos Sur, Philippines, to integrate a recommender agent to help the Provincial Government of Ilocos Sur advertise attractions and establishments to be managed by the said government, where one of the Seven Wonders of the World, Vigan City, is situated.

Abstract: International Organization for Standardization (ISO) purposely aims to standardize and to transform processes into paperless. Hence, all organizations must create a mechanism to standardize processes for internationalization. This study aimed to design, develop, and deploy a dynamic web-based document tracking system for the University of Northern Philippines to minimize the stress brought by stakeholders' task to follow-up documents in the University. The developed system served as the central repository of documents from the time it is created until its approval. Descriptive-developmental research was used in the study's conduct because it focuses on the prevailing condition and assesses changes over an extended period. Simultaneously, it used the Modified Waterfall Model because it is the most applicable software development methodology since the developer had thorough planning on the implementation of the system. The developed system consists of six (6) significant functionalities: (1) uploading a document for approval, (2) track document, (3) display received document, (4) display documents that are pending for release, (5) display declined documents, (6) archive documents. The researchers considered security control and measures to safeguard the documents stored and unauthorized users. The developer recommends using the web-based document tracking system for the University of Northern Philippines to facilitate easier tracking and consolidation of documents. Necessary equipment should also be purchased, and the network setup is laid to support the developed system. It provides the University to have a mechanism for paperless organization.

Abstract: Accuracy of decision is a significant factor for organizations to survive. Most organizations today are already using data warehouses for a data-mining strategy to extract data based on historical and transactional data to create meaningful decisions. This strategy creates an imperative business perspective to direct the organization's future. This study is a development of a forest management system for the Department of Environment and Natural Resources. The researchers integrated the use of an ID3 decision tree algorithm data mining in the development. ID3 decision tree algorithm is used as a data mining technique to identify suitable species of trees to be planted according to uses, tree type, soil type, and tolerance to different diseases and pests. On ISO 25010 Systems Quality Standards, the SFM received Very Great Extent. This implies that the system is ready for deployment and utilization.

Abstract: Rice is the number one staple food in the country, as this serves as the primary livelihood for thousands of Filipino households. However, as the tradition continues, farmers are not familiar with the different types of rice leaf diseases that might compromise the entire rice crop. The need to address the common bacterial leaf blight in rice is a serious disease that can lead to reduced yields and even crop loss of up to 75%. This paper is a design and development of a rice leaf disease detection mobile application prototype using an algorithm used for image analysis. The researchers also used the Rice Disease Image Dataset by Huy Minh Do available at this https URL to train state-of-the-art convolutional neural networks using transfer learning. Moreover, we used image augmentation to increase the number of image samples and the accuracy of the neural networks as well

Abstract: Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) in the Philippines consider student development services as a significant support system for students' academic experience as well as for institutional development. The complementation of co-curricular activities to academics may lead to students' holistic development. As these continue, many documents are also being produced in the conduct of those activities. Thus, the decision-making process as well as the management of those documents are difficult tasks for Higher Education Institutions in support of students' welfare and development. Decision-making is a critical phase to analyze document submission of student organizations' developmental activities. This research focused mainly on the design, development, and evaluation of a mechanism for document management with descriptive analytics through data visualization techniques that would help in the decision-making of HEI's administration. The researchers designed the system with an analytical model transformed into codes and MySql as backend framework for student organizations' Key Performance Indicators to analyze in real-time the student organizations' document submission. A Rapid Application Development served as the basis for the design, development, and evaluation of the system. The system addresses data and document management, repository, announcements, communication, dissemination to students, decision-support with the integration of dashboards as part of a descriptive analytics approach. Dashboards provide ease of viewing Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to the system's end-users. The system's evaluation obtained an overall weighted mean of 4.43 with a Very Great Extent description. This evaluation shows that the system is ready for deployment and implementation. The automation of operations and analysis of documents will ease users' operations, optimize resources, and aid a timely decision-making process.

Abstract: Information on the web is increasing at an exponential rate. This has resulted in a myriad of choices that are available for users on the web giving complex processes of the world’s largest database, the Internet. This has also given birth to the development of data filtering algorithms used in recommender technologies that help users find their best decision from the large unstructured database of the World Wide Web (WWW). Recommender systems have been widely used in e commerce websites like Lazada, Amazon and other popular websites like YouTube, Spotify, Linkedin, Facebook, and Instagram. Thus, the researchers came up with a study on the development of a recommender system. This study is a research and development of a recommender system for the province of Abra, Philippines, titled “Abra iTour: A Semantic Web Recommender Using Hybrid Algorithm”. The system adopted a hybrid algorithm, a combination of Collaborative and Content-based filtering algorithms to extract data for the recommendation lists that are offered to the users of the system. IT experts assessed the extent on the level of efficiency of the hybrid algorithm with a 4.59 rating described as Very Great Extent. Thus, the hybrid algorithm used by the system is proven. The recommender system ISO 25010 Software Quality Standards evaluation acquired an overall weighted mean of 4.52, Very Great Extent. This implies that the recommender system is ready for deployment and implementation.
