Dr. Tacbas is currently the President of the Philippine Association of State Universities and Colleges of the Philippines (PASUC) and has been working well with the current Administration of Gloria Macapagal - Arroyo with CHED as its arm in making sure that affordable yet high quality education are given to the students. There are currently 111 state Colleges and Universities in the Philippines.
