One hundred eighteen families of Sitio Namnama, Brgy. Tamurong, Sta. Catalina, Ilocos Sur have received relief packs from the University of Northern Philippines on April 20.
The relief operations is part of the Tulong mula sa Puso ng UNPians program that aims to provide assistance to the needy during the COVID-19 global pandemic.
The University Faculty Union (FU), the Non-Teaching Employees Union (NEU), and the Tulong mula sa Puso ng UNPians program funded the relief packs.
The distribution was led by Dr. Erwin F. Cadorna (University President) and Hon. Allen Magdaleno De Vera (FU President). With them are other University officials and personnel.
Moreover, the relief operations is the University’s way of fulfilling its duties and responsibilities stipulated in the Memorandum of Agreement signed between the officials of the locality and the University under the latter’s Adopt-a-Community Program.
