The University of Northern Philippines continues its unwavering support to frontliners in line with waging the battle against Covid-19.
This is done through the distribution of snacks in two waves, April 21 and April 23.
Recipients include employees of Rural Health Units of the First District of Ilocos Sur and of hospitals designated to deal with Covid-19 cases.
Specifically, the hospitals are Ilocos Sur Provincial Hospital–Gabriela Silang, Ilocos Sur District Hospital–Magsingal, and Ilocos Sur District Hospital–Narvacan.
“A total of 568 snack packs were given as a way of thanking and appreciating the frontliners and boosting their morale,” said Atty. Jonalyn R. Almachar, University/Board Secretary and in-charge of this activity.
130 of these are for the hospitals.
The snack packs bear the message “Saludo kami sa inyo. Panalangin namin ang inyong kaligtasan at paghilom ng sanlibutan. Salamat sa inyong dedikasyon at serbisyo.”
This activity is part of the program “Tulong Mula sa Puso ng UNPians.”
Faculty members and staff volunteered in distributing these to the frontliners.
“Thank you so much. We don’t know how we can pay back,” Dr. Junardine Soliven, one of the medical doctors of the Ilocos Sur District Hospital–Narvacan, commented.
