As part of the different relief operations slated under the Tulong mula sa Puso ng UNPians Program, 15 families residing at Gawad Kalinga Village at San Sebastian, San Vicente, Ilocos Sur received food packs from the University of Northern Philippines on April 20, 2020.

The Tulong mula sa Puso ng UNPians was initiated by the University President, Dr. Erwin F. Cadorna, and other University officials in response to the difficulties brought about the global pandemic Covid-19.

The said program aims to help the government in providing help to the different sectors of the community within the province and nearby provinces.

Present during the relief operations are University administrators headed by Dr. Erwin F. Cadorna, Dr. Rolando B. Navarro, Engr. Nestor Pajaro, Dr. Edelyn Cadorna (Director, University Research Office), and Dr. Marciana P. De Vera (Director, University Extension Office).

Also in attendance during the said activity are UEO staff, some faculty members, and non-teaching personnel of the University.

Mr. Jeffrey Rigunay, the Village President, has expressed his gratitude on behalf of the villagers for the help the University has provided them in this challenging time. He further reiterated that the villagers have always been grateful to the University for choosing them as one of the beneficiaries under its Adopt-a-Community Program.
