During his welcome address, Dr. Rolando B. Navarro, Vice President for Academic Affairs, recapped that with the long tradition as an independently accredited institution, the University of Northern Philippines is one of the oldest universities in the north, and in its long history, has maintained a well-deserved reputation for excellence that provides students with rigorous, high quality education. “Today the university will undergo process of accreditation as an important work and undertaking that helps the university not only to maintain quality of instruction, programs and services but to identify possible gray areas for improvement”, he also remarked.

Echoing the words of Dr. Erwin F. Cadorna, President, the University of Northern Philippines promises to deliver services that are polite and friendly, prompt and responsive, accurate and consistent, accessible and convenient, honest and transparent to students, employees and other stakeholders.

He also made some significant reminders to the UNP community. “We need to understand that we must go through the accreditation process to ensure that we uphold a rigid set of service and operational requirements, especially being that we are ISO certified as well.”

Dr. Arnel B. Millesca, Overall Coordinator, Partido State University, during his giving of impressions is hopeful that the university will maintain its quest for innovation and continual improvement. “May we always speak the correct language of accreditation,” he added.

The survey visit was facilitated by the Quality Assurance Office, headed by its Director- Dr. Eva Marie C. Avila.
