CISCO networking academy instructor training concludes
CISCO Networking Academy, through the University of Technology and Applied Sciences (UTAS) in Oman, concluded its training workshop on networking and cyber security for University of Northern Philippines teaching and non-teaching personnel. The instructor training workshop was held both online and face-to-face from July 22 to August 2, 2024 at the UNP Tadena Hall.
The program was a continuation of the recent collaboration agreement that commenced with conducting a CISCO Networking Academy-Instructor Training for the CISCO Certified Network Associate curriculum and Introduction to IoT and Digital Transformation training. It was made possible with the initiative of the University Research and Development Office (URDO) through the directive of Dr. Edelyn Cadorna.
This workshop aimed to develop UNP to become a smart university. The University of Northern Philippines was the first SUC in the country to conduct training with the CISCO Networking Academy.
Dr. Leopoldo Maglalang Jr. and Dr. Russell Diona served both as trainers and resource speakers for the 10 training workshops, ensuring that UNP would become a smart campus in terms of cyber security. In addition, UTAS and UNP become as official partners and UNP as beneficiary of the CISCO Networking Academy Program, Innovation, and Collaborative Research.
Dr. Erwin Cadorna, UNP President, expressed his gratitude to UTAS-Muscat for their support in conducting this kind of training for UNP, embracing the role of ICT in development, and strengthening partnerships for a better UNP.
According to him, the Global Community Outreach Program is a testament to UNP’s dedication to advancing education and fostering a spirit of collaboration, and he looks forward to the personnel who attended the training workshop also becoming CISCO instructors after they finish the three courses offered by the CISCO Networking Academy.
Lastly, the participants also shared their impressions and insights about the workshop, and express their gratitude for the free training.
