UNP partners with San Julian, Bantay for dev’t initiatives

The University of Northern Philippines (UNP) – College of Criminal Justice Education (CCJE), signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with Barangay San Julian, Bantay, Ilocos Sur on August 05, 2024.

The ceremony was attended by Dr. Sina C. Bestre (Dean, CCJE), Dr. Edwin Q. Cerna (College Extension Coordinator), Dr. George Phillippe C. Amano, and Dr. Lloyd A. Mata (OIC-Director, UEO), along with Prof. Randall M. Rabacal (Coordinator for Research Dissemination and Advocacy Services) and Prof. Jevie A. Abella (Coordinator for Community and Social Services). Brgy. Capt. Rosario A. Pre and Exequiel P. Pre, Barangay Kagawad, were also present.

This initiative aimed to establish a comprehensive support system for San Julian by leveraging the collective power of academic institutions, government agencies, non-governmental organizations, and the private sector.

The program’s underlying view is to accomplish significantly more by collaborating than by working independently. It emphasizes that the establishment of partnerships is not only imperative but also indispensable in the pursuit of sustainable development.

The San Julian community, in collaboration with its partners, established a model of development that could serve as an example for other communities dealing with similar challenges by pooling resources, expertise, and efforts.
