The University of Northern Philippines (UNP) welcomed the delegates from Universitas Bina Sarana Informatika (UBSI) of Indonesia during the international summit titled “Bridging Cultures and Businesses: International Student Mobility” held on April 21 at the UNP-Tadena Hall.
Spearheaded by the College of Business Administration and Accountancy (CBAA), the event marked the formal launch of a 28-day academic and cultural immersion program for five Indonesian exchange students.
Among the key officials in attendance was Dr. Rolando Navarro, Vice President for Academic Affairs, who delivered an inspirational message underscoring the value of cultural exchange—not just within the academic realm but as a vital part of global understanding. Dr. Erwin Tolbe, Dean of the College of Business Administration and Accountancy, warmly welcomed the delegates and participants through his opening address.
Dr. Edelyn Cadorna, Director of University Research Development Office (URDO), and Dr. Sally Jarin, Director of the International and Alumni External Linkages Office (IAELO), were present in support of the initiative, while Dr. Winnie Caliboso, Student Mobility Coordinator, shared meaningful insights on the purpose and long-term vision behind the cultural exchange. Guiding the flow of the program was Mr. Emman Trevor Quilala, BizNews Adviser, who served as the master of ceremonies.
A key moment of the program was the formal presentation of Dr. Glenn Paul Briones, CBAA International Focal Person, to the visiting Indonesian students: Patricia Dyah Ayu Sekar Pinatishi, Mega Aulia Utami, Nur Badarul Nashiroh, Alief Wahyu Alhabib, and Intan Kamiela.
In response, Dr. Jimmi, Head of UBSI’s International Office Affairs, expressed appreciation for the warm reception and highlighted the institutions’ shared commitment to advancing international business education.
Speaking on behalf of the exchange students, Nur Badarul Nashiroh delivered a heartfelt message of gratitude, citing UNP’s hospitality and the enriching experiences they have encountered thus far.
The summit also recognized CBAA faculty and student leaders for their involvement in organizing and supporting the program. The event concluded with a group photo, symbolizing the strong and growing partnership between UNP and UBSI in promoting student mobility and cross-cultural learning.
