UNP partners with Kiwanis Club for medical mission

UNIVERSITY NEWS

The University of Northern Philippines (UNP) in collaboration with the Kiwanis Club of Ilocos Sur and Caridad, organized a medical mission that provided essential healthcare services to the community. The initiative, spearheaded by the University Extension Office and the College of Nursing, specifically targeted the elementary pupils of Kinapian Elementary School, Suyo, Ilocos Sur, on August 24, 2024.

A dedicated team composed of medical doctors from the Kiwanis Club, along with nursing faculty and students from UNP, delivered free medical check-ups, health education, and feeding programs. These services were designed to promote the importance of good health and well-being among the young students.

In addition to healthcare services, the event featured engaging activities such as parlor games and the distribution of school and art supplies, which contributed to a joyful atmosphere. The smiles on the children’s faces underscored the positive impact of the medical mission.

This initiative reflects UNP’s ongoing commitment to meaningful and sustainable community extension programs. By providing essential healthcare services and promoting healthy lifestyles, the university continues to make a significant difference in the lives of those it serves, reinforcing its role as a leading institution dedicated to community service.
