UNP reaps awards at ASCU-SN Summer Olympics 2022

As part of the university’s mission of fostering good relationships with institutions, the University of Northern Philippines participated in the 9^th Association of State Colleges and Universities- Solid North (ASCU-SN) Summer Olympics at the Benguet State University, La Trinidad, Benguet, held on July 19-23.

With over 3000 participants, UNP joined in different competitions along sports, culture, and indigenous games.

ASCU-SN is composed of 21 SUCs in Region I, II, III, and Cordillera Administrative Region. 

The participating schools include: Abra State Institute of Sciences and Technology; Apayao State College; Batanes State College; Benguet State University; Bulacan State University; Cagayan State University; Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University; Ifugao State University; Ilocos Sur Polytechnic State College; Isabela State University; Kalinga State University; Mariano Marcos State University; Mountain Province State Polytechnic College; North Luzon Philippines State College; Nueva Vizcaya State University; Pampanga State Agricultural University; Pangasinan State University; Quirino State University; Tarlac Agricultural University; Tarlac State University; and University of Northern Philippines.

UNP employees dominated both the Basketball Men 46-above category and Badminton Women’s Doubles 46-above category having been hailed as champions.

Further, Ms. Marie Graciel Balbuena emerged as Ms. ASCU-SN 2022- Special Edition, 2^nd Runner Up. Her partner, Mr. Iann Patrick G. Fontano, was also part of the top five finalists.
