Vigan City Partners Appreciation Night awards contributors to community improvement

The Partners Appreciation Night held on January 21, 2025 at the Vigan Convention, honoured outstanding contributions from various sectors. Some personnel, students and organizations of the University of Northern Philippines were included as honorees.

Dr. Erwin Cadorna, UNP President; Mr. Joel Fabillaran, faculty of College of Communication and Information Technology, University Information Office staff and thesis adviser of student honorees John Almarie Arce, Daniel Liyo, and Emman Louie Sarabia, of the Bachelor of Science in Computer Science program; The New Tandem; NewsCAS; SASO; and the UNP Student Council, all received awards for their contributions that made significant impacts to the community.

Hon. Jeremias “Jerry” Singson, Governor of Ilocos Sur, in his inspirational message emphasized the role of unity in fostering progress and enhancing public service.

Hon. Jose Bonito Singson, Jr., City Mayor, shared his words of gratitude, acknowledging the hard work and dedication of all partners that have significantly impacted Vigan City’s development.

Hon. Ada Joanna Fe Artajos, City Councilor, highlighted the importance of collaboration among local government units, NGOs, and private organizations in achieving community goals.

The program included an acknowledgment to partner national government agencies for their essential roles in local initiatives. The event also acknowledged various non-government organizations, private organizations, and individuals for their contributions to community welfare and development.

A significant highlight was the announcement of the Top 10 Most Outstanding NGOs for 2024, celebrating those organizations that have demonstrated exceptional service and impact within the community.

This Partners Appreciation Night not only served as a platform for recognition but also reinforced the spirit of cooperation among stakeholders committed to enhancing the quality of life in Vigan City. The evening concluded with a sense of accomplishment and renewed commitment to future collaborations aimed at community improvement.
