UNP CTech advances international exposure through New Energy Vehicle Training in China

Strengthening its drive for technological innovation and global academic collaboration, the University of Northern Philippines (UNP), through its College of Technology, is expanding its expertise in emerging electric vehicle technologies as Prof. George Michael Amano participates in the Professional Development Program in New Energy Vehicle Technologies from October 24 to November 7, 2026 at Shougang Park in Beijing, China.

The international training program offers Prof. Amano, faculty member and Program Head of the Bachelor of Science in Industrial Technology, an opportunity to enhance his technical expertise in Battery Electric Vehicle and Hybrid Electric Vehicle technologies.

Through exposure to emerging innovations, advanced technical applications, and established industry practices, the program broadens his understanding of next-generation vehicle systems and the technological developments transforming the global automotive industry. The knowledge and competencies gained are expected to strengthen his capacity to deliver relevant, industry-responsive instruction and help align technology education at the University of Northern Philippines with the evolving demands of the automotive sector.

The initiative supports the internationalization agenda of the University of Northern Philippines through its International Affairs and External Linkages Office (IAELO), which facilitates international engagement, professional development, and academic and institutional partnerships. By participating in global training programs, faculty members gain valuable insights and broaden their professional perspectives, enabling them to integrate international best practices and emerging knowledge into the University’s academic programs.

With the support of the University administration under the leadership of President Dr. Erwin Cadorna, Prof. Amano’s participation demonstrates UNP’s sustained commitment to enhance faculty competencies and expand international exposure as key components of academic excellence.

Through such professional development initiatives, the College of Technology strengthens its capacity to deliver relevant, technology-driven education responsive to global industry advancements, helping prepare graduates with the knowledge and skills needed to navigate an increasingly technology-driven world.
