The University of Northern Philippines–College of Communication and Information Technology (CCIT) equipped teachers of Naglaoa-an Elementary School in Sto. Domingo, Ilocos Sur with practical knowledge on cyberbullying awareness, digital citizenship, and cyber safety in lesson planning during a training workshop on September 11, 2026.
The training focused on cyberbullying, online safety, privacy, misinformation, and responsible technology use, while providing practical approaches for integrating digital citizenship and cyber safety into classroom lessons. The activity was conducted in coordination with School Principal I Dr. Salome Ubarre Jr.
Serving as resource speakers from UNP-CCIT were Dr. Maribel Tacla and Dr. Caren Kate Cubon, while Mr. Angelito Ramos and Dr. Flynn Castro served as facilitators.
The workshop strengthened teachers’ capacity to address digital safety and responsible technology use in their lessons and to promote a safe, respectful, responsible, and inclusive digital learning environment for learners.
The activity was conducted as part of UNP-CCIT’s extension services, providing the College an avenue to share its expertise with the school community and support efforts toward safer and more responsible use of technology in education.
