Internationalization paves roads to breaking barriers and transcending borders.
This has been proven with the recently concluded Southeast Asia Student Mobility and Advanced Metaverse Technology Summit held on November 21-23, 2023. Four international institutions signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the University of Northern Philippines at the UNP Tadena Hall on November 22, 2023.
This Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) aims to establish a collaborative partnership among the four international institutions and UNP.
The participating entities include the Universitas Negeri Malang (UM), the Universitas Sebelas Maret, the Srijaya Megara Foundation-Indonesia, the Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization—Quality Improvement of Teacher and Education Personnel (QITEP) in Science (SEAMEO QITEP in Science), and the University of Northern Philippines.
The said institutions made a pact to promote academic and cultural cooperation and exchange, pursuant to prevailing laws and regulations in the respective countries.
The said institutions agreed to encourage faculty, staff, and student exchange programs, joint scientific research projects, as well as extension and other related activities like lectures, workshops, symposia, and seminars.
In addition, they emphasized that the partnership is anchored on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and other collaboration activities deemed beneficial among the said institutions.
The purpose of this MOU is to foster cooperation, knowledge-sharing, and joint initiatives in areas of common interest. By leveraging the expertise, resources, and networks of the involved parties, it aims to address critical challenges, promote innovation, and drive positive societal impact.
Through this agreement, the collaborating agencies encapsulates the spirit of collaboration and mutual benefit, promoting increased efficiency and effectiveness in achieving shared goals.
The signing of this MOU signifies commitment to fostering an environment of interdisciplinary engagement and creating a platform for valuable partnerships that will advance our collective mission.
