CTech conducts t-shirt printing training at provincial jail
In celebration of National Prisoner’s Month, the College of Technology of the University of Northern Philippines conducted a three-day extension program at the Ilocos Sur Provincial Jail in Taleb, Bantay, Ilocos Sur on October 29-31, 2024.
Aimed to be gender-responsive, the program equipped inmates with valuable skills in silk screen T-shirt printing.
The training was led by Dr. Mario R. Reotutar and Dr. Joselito Q. Cabaldon from the College of Technology, with Mr. Benedict V. Baustista from the College of Arts and Sciences.
The participants were given hands-on training in screen stencils preparation, design alignment, and ink application.
The program’s gender-responsive approach created an inclusive and respectful environment, allowing inmates to freely express their creativity while also developing practical skills for their future.
