Orgs join forces for HIV/AIDS talk, testing
As part of the World HIV/AIDS Awareness Month, the Federation of Business Administration Students (FBAS) and the Organization of Business Administration Students (OBAS), in collaboration with Maris ti Ayat Inc., organized an HIV/AIDS awareness symposium at the UNP-Auditorium on April 17.
Students at the College attended the event, which aimed to dispel ignorance and provide the youth with essential knowledge on sexual education.
Topics that were expertly discussed included prior knowledge of the causes, potential treatments, and precautions of HIV/AIDS. The event underscored the importance of sexuality education to society, all in line with the theme of “Panagbileg ti Kinnabanuag: The National Youth HIV and AIDS Awareness Month Celebration.”
Mr. Jay Leonard C. Roldan, federated president of Maris ti Ayat Inc., and Ms. Angelica Rigucira, faculty member of the Department of Social Sciences and Philosophy (DSSP) of the College of Arts and Sciences (CAS), were the resource speakers who addressed the topics.
The primary goal of the activity is to provide free HIV/AIDS testing to students who are willing to assess their current state of health. About 50 testers participated, each of whom tested negative for HIV/AIDS.
