Interior Design students showcase Ilocos Sur’s cuisine, arts
BS Interior Design students at the UNP College of Fine Arts and Design showcased a special exhibition with the theme “Ilocolture: Showcasing Ilocos Sur’s Cuisine and Arts by Featuring Ilocano Contemporary Design Style within Commercial Spaces.” The exhibition was launched at the Provincial Farmers Livelihood Development Center on May 6, 2024 and sponsored by the Provincial Government of Ilocos Sur (PGIS).
The interior design exhibit was comprised of three commercial spaces with approximately 15 sq m per area, collaborating with local businesses in Ilocos Sur, specifically Rowilda’s Handloom Weaving, Nanang Sion Vigan Empanada, One Ilocos Sur Café, Gerry’s Souvenir Shop, and Laga Iloko Handicraft.
This year’s theme is “Ilocolture: Showcasing Ilocos Sur’s Cuisine and Arts by Featuring Ilocano Contemporary Design Style Within Commercial Spaces.”
It is the very first BSID exhibition which features Ilocano trademarks applied and seen through furniture design, lighting design, and the overall aesthetic of local businesses in Ilocos Sur.
Iloculture is also the first BSID Exhibit that is held outside the UNP premises, bringing more recognition and appreciation to the craft and skills of BSID students.
