UNP-CoE forge MoA with LGU Sto. Domingo
The University of Northern Philippines (UNP) has recently entered into a significant partnership with the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Sto. Domingo, Ilocos Sur. This collaboration was formalized through a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) signed on October 16, 2024, at the office of Mayor Bryan Dexter Tadena.
The signing ceremony was attended by various municipal officials, including SBM Hon. Eddie Tacala, and representatives from UNP’s College of Engineering (CoE), including Engr. Rio Nico Costales and Engr. Christy Faye Gasmen.
The primary objective of the MOA is to facilitate the development of necessary reports for the municipality’s wastewater treatment facility, which is essential for applying for a wastewater discharge permit. This initiative aims to enhance environmental management and compliance within the municipality.
Under the Adopt-a-Community program, UNP through the CoE hereby adopts Municipality of Sto. Domingo, Ilocos Sur and aims to provide engineering services; conduct information drive and other advocacy programs such as environmental awareness, climate change, and solid waste management; conduct skills training, technology transfer, and livelihood projects; and technical assistance in relation to the above activities.
