UNP takes college admission campaign in three provinces, inspires future UNPians

Bringing higher education opportunities closer to aspiring college students in Ilocos Sur, Abra, and Ilocos Norte, the University of Northern Philippines, through its Admission Services Office under the Office of Student Affairs and Services, conducted its annual UNP College Admission Test information dissemination and school-to-school campaign from October 6 to 27, 2026.

Beyond providing admission information, the campaign brought higher education opportunities closer to aspiring college students by encouraging them to pursue their academic ambitions and envision a brighter future.

Reaching aspiring college students of three provinces, the campaign covered Vigan and other parts of Ilocos Sur on October 8, 12, and 19; Abra on October 6 and 27; and Ilocos Norte on October 7 and 8. Through this extensive outreach, UNP strengthened its efforts to make higher education more accessible, guide prospective students in choosing their academic paths, and encourage them to pursue opportunities for personal growth and community development.

Leading the initiative was Dr. Mariano Paterno Avila, Director of the Office of Student Affairs and Services, with Dr. Benjie Gapate, Dr. Precious Lyn Babida, Ms. Monique Tubera, Mr. Jeffrey Valencia, Mr. Froilan Unciano, Ms. Anne Kleire Mae Rafanan, Ms. Ariza May Quiocho, Mr. Joseph Caoitan, Mr. Neil Andre Bajet, Ms. Krystal Gale Senica, and Mrs. Sarah Alcayaga. Their collective efforts helped bring the University’s academic offerings and admission information closer to learners, enabling prospective applicants to make informed decisions as they prepare for college.

Through the collaborative efforts of the Admission Services Office and other service units under the Office of Student Affairs and Services—particularly Guidance and Counseling Services, Scholarship Services, and Services for Students with Special Needs and Persons with Disabilities—the initiative introduced UNP’s academic programs, explained admission procedures and requirements, and presented the support services available to future UNPians. Flyers from various academic units and informational posters were also distributed to guide prospective applicants. The campaign reinforced the University’s commitment to accessible, quality, tuition-free higher education that empowers students to build better futures for themselves, their families, and their communities.

Beyond presenting admission requirements and academic offerings, the campaign sought to help learners identify their interests, recognize their strengths, and make informed decisions about their future college programs. It reinforced the University’s commitment to bring educational opportunities closer to communities, promote equitable access regardless of background or gender, and empower aspiring students to pursue higher education.
