Goal
History
1971. The College started as College of Business Administration, offering Bachelor of Science in Business Administration major in Accounting, Bachelor of Science in Business Administration major in Banking and Finance, and Bachelor of Science in Business Administration major in Management as its academic programs.
1990. The College was renamed to College of Business Administration and Accountancy and confirmed the offering of the Bachelor of Science in Accountancy starting AY 1990-1991 by virtue of Board Resolution No. 37, s. 1990.
1990. The University received a commendation from the Board of Accountancy through PRC Chairman Hermogenes Pobre for the commendable performance of the CBAA in the CPA Licensure Examination.
1994. BS in Business Administration (BSBA) major in Management Accounting was offered.
1995. Master in Business Administration was offered.
1995. CBAA holds the distinction of being the first Business Education School to be accredited by the Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities of the Philippines AACUP in the entire archipelago.
1996. Associate in Office Management was offered.
1997. Ms. Emely Querubin placed 20th in the CPA Licensure Examination.
1999. Ms. Madelyn Lerma Viernes ranked 14th in the CPA Licensure Examination.
2000. The Bachelor of Science in Hotel and Restaurant Administration was offered. The BSBA Major in Entrepreneurship was renamed as Bachelor of Science in Entrepreneurship and BSBA major in Cooperative Management was renamed as Bachelor of Science in Cooperative Management which took effect in the first semester of AY 2001-2002.
2001. Doctor in Business Administration was offered. UNP received another commendation from the Board of Accountancy for its exemplary performance having obtained a 67% passing percentage under category 4 (with 1 to 25 examinees) in May 2001 CPA Examination. Another certificate of recognition was received for its exemplary performance in the October 2001 CPA Licensure Examination having obtained 72% passing percentage under category 3 (with 26 to 50 examinees). UNP placed 2nd nationwide among all schools under category 3.
2006. CBAA produced a topnotcher in the CPA Licensure Examination in the person of Mr. Sherwin James Credo (No. 8) with a rating of 88.86%.
2007. Some programs were renamed, to wit: BS in Business Administration (BSBA) major in Banking and Finance to BS in Business Administration (BSBA) major in Financial Management and BS Business Administration (BSBA) major in Management to BS in Business Administration (BSBA) major in Human Resource Development Management.
2008. Ms. Melody Jade Quilana ranked 9th in the CPA Licensure Examination with a rating of 91%.
2011. Financial Management and Human Resource Development Management were introduced to replace Banking and Finance, and Management in AY 2011-2012.
2013. The BSA, BSBA FM/HRDM/MA, BSCM, BSENTREP programs were subjected for Level III Phase I Accreditation. They attained the Accredited Status of Qualified for Level II awarded by AACCUP.
2014. The Bachelor of Science in Accountancy, Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (Majors: Financial Management, Management Accounting, and Human Resource Development Management), Bachelor of Science in Cooperative Management, and Bachelor of Science in Entrepreneurship were awarded Level III Re-accredited Accreditation status by the AACCUP.
2015. UNP CBAA was recognized by CHED as the Delivering Higher Educational Institution in Region I for the implementation of the Special Training Program in Business Analytics.
2018. The DBA and MBA programs passed the Phase 1 of two phases of evaluation in the 3rd Survey Visit by AACCUP.
2019. UNP is 23rd top performing school out of 642 Accountancy Schools in the entire country (2014–2018 CPALE results). Also, CBAA was reaccredited by the Cooperative Development Authority (CDA) as Cooperative Training Provider effective November 27, 2019 to November 26, 2021
2020. DBA and MBA Programs passed the Phase 2 of two phases of evaluation in the 3rd Survey Visit by AACCUP.
