2024 Science Month culminates with creative and scientific excellence

The College of Arts and Sciences–Department of Mathematics and Natural Sciences sponsored the 2024 Science Month celebration culminating activity, which took place on September 26, 2024, with the theme “Innovative Practices: Harmonizing Science, Culture, and Climate Action.” The event emphasized the integration of scientific inquiry, cultural understanding, and climate solutions.

Highlighting the culmination was the “Science Reels: Montage Madness Challenge,” where Leah Sheika Rabino (BSEd English 4) won first place for her creative and informative reel. Wimbledon Bosque (BSEd English 4) took home both the Most Liked and Most Shared awards for his engaging contributions to the challenge.

“Convergence of Creativity: A Sci-in Art Exhibit” celebrated the intersection of science and the arts. Ma. Reena Celine Mangaliman from BSID 3B secured first place, while Wimbledon Bosque of BSEd English 4 earned second for his imaginative artwork reflecting the theme of harmonizing science with culture.

In the intellectually stimulating Search for Science Quizzard, Luiz Gabriel Sabinicio of BSCE 1E clinched first place, followed by Christian Viloria of BS Physics 3 in second and Kenji Idica of BS Physics 4 in third place.

The event, with the support of the Department of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, not only fostered a sense of scientific curiosity but also showcased the power of creativity and culture in addressing the urgent challenges of climate change.
