UNP holds extension program in San Emilio
“Difficult roads often lead to beautiful destinations.”
This was proven by the University of Northern Philippines personnel and students in their extension activity in Matibuey, San Emilio, Ilocos Sur on October 19.
The travel was worth the difficulty of reaching the place because meeting the residents of the barangay and enjoying the scenic place relaxed the delegation.
The activity was not only gift giving of grocery packs but also a skills training on making dish washing liquid.
The children were also entertained through some games which were facilitated by the Guidance Services Office personnel, the Student Council officers, and the Mr. & Ms. UNP winners.
The College of Medicine also had its share of gifts such as school supplies, towels, and medicines for the residents.
The extension activity was attended by the staff of the Office of Student Affairs and Services led by Dr. Mariano F. Avila (director) and of the University Extension Office led by Dr. Lloyd L. Mata (director).
Also present were Student Council officers headed Hon. Jhunel F. Tanurio, as well as the winners of Mr. & Ms. UNP 2023.
It can be recalled that Matibuey was also a recipient of the gift giving activity after the July 27, 2022 earthquake.
Dr. Erwin F. Cadorna, UNP President, and Hon. Eva Marie S. Medina led the group in the distribution of grocery packs to residents.
