In line with the mission to serve the community and uphold justice, the University of Northern Philippines College of Law through its Legal Clinic and Clinical Legal Education Program (CLEP) organized the Free Legal Aid activity for the residents of San Julian Norte, Vigan City on October 17, 2024.

In collaboration with the Integrated Bar of the Philippines-Ilocos Chapter (IBP), this initiative served to extend legal assistance and address a range of legal concerns of the residents and at the same time provide an immersive, practical learning experience for law students as they interact with real clients and handle cases.

The Legal Aid Program was spearheaded by law student practitioners under the CLEP, with the supervision of the CLaw faculty and lawyers from the IBP, namely: Atty. Chino De Leon and Atty. Jenny Marie de Leon.

The program is a concrete expression of the UNP College of Law’s commitment to provide community service and legal education, especially to the marginalized and underserved community members.
