UNP’s Midwifery grads Take Oath of Service

The University of Northern Philippines (UNP) proudly witnessed the oath-taking ceremony of its newly registered midwives on December 13, 2024, at Baguio City, administered by the Professional Regulations Commission (PRC) Board of Midwifery. This milestone marks a significant achievement for the graduates of the Bachelor of Science in Midwifery (BSM) program under the College of Health Sciences (CHS).

The event was attended by Dr. Joussie B. Bermio, Dean, CHS, Dr. Alfredo V. Corpuz, Assistant Dean of CHS, Prof. Lowie Lynnete Basconcillo, BSM program head, Prof. Geraldine Palomares, RLE coordinator, and several BSM faculty members. Their presence underscored the university’s unwavering support and pride in the accomplishments of its graduates.

The highlight of the event was the recognition of two outstanding graduates from UNP who achieved exceptional results in the November 2024 Midwifery Licensure Examination, earning spots as Regional Topnotchers. Maranell Napoli, RM, secured Top 5 with an impressive score of 90.50%, while Gerald A. Tabilin, RM, earned Top 12 with a score of 89.75%. Their success reflects not only their hard work and dedication but also the high-quality education and mentorship provided by the UNP College of Health Sciences.

The oath-taking ceremony symbolizes the graduates’ formal entry into the midwifery profession, where they are now ready to serve communities with competence and compassion. The event was a proud moment for the UNP community, celebrating both academic excellence and the vital role midwives play in healthcare.
