CSW concludes Year-End Development Program in Ilocos Sur

A community outreach initiative of the College of Social Work dubbed as “Kakinibin ni Panagballigi” wrapped up its 2024 series of activities with a special countryside gathering on December 6, 2024 in Suyo, Ilocos Sur. The one-day event brought together early childhood development workers for a comprehensive program of activities focused on professional growth, and community building.

The gathering featured an impressive turnout of 60 participants, including 40 EDC workers, 7 MSWDD staff members, and educational professionals from the College of Social Work. The program, which ran from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM emphasized interactive learning through group singing, parlor games, and structured reflection activities.

What made this event particularly noteworthy was its focus on holistic development. Participants engaged in various socialization activities designed to promote both professional growth, and personal well-being. The program served as a platform for workers to share their insights and experiences throughout the year, creating a valuable opportunity for collective learning and assessment.

The event marked an important milestone in UNP’s commitment to community development, bringing together diverse stakeholders from the education and social work sectors. This gathering represented the culmination of a year-long series of activities, setting the stage for future extension programs in the region.

The success of this initiative demonstrates the College of Social Work’s dedication to fostering professional development while strengthening community ties in the Ilocos region. As the program concluded, it left behind a framework for continued collaboration and growth in early childhood development services.
