UNP-CoE Enhances Laboratory with New Universal Testing Machine
The UNP College of Engineering took a significant step in advancing its laboratory capabilities with the installation, testing of the newly acquired Universal Testing Machine (UTM) and training of faculty members of UNP College of Engineering (CoE) on January 16, 2025. The training focused on the operation, maintenance, and proper utilization of the UTM. It was conducted by HUMiL International Corporation, a leader in engineering and material testing technologies.
The UTM, a state-of-the-art equipment designed to test the tensile, is a compressive and flexural strength of materials. It will serve as a tool for laboratory experiments, instruction and researches, ensuring that students gain hands-on experiences on the behavior of materials.
Dr. Nelia Verzosa, Dean of CoE, together with the faculty members expressed their enthusiasm on the importance of the newly acquired UTM. The training empowered the faculty members to provide students with practical understanding of material properties.
With the installation of the new UTM, the UNP CoE is poised to strengthen its academic and research initiatives, reinforcing its commitment to producing globally competitive engineers.
