BAC Capacity Building Program on RA 9184 concludes
The UNP – Bids and Awards Committee (BAC), in partnership with the Government Procurement Policy Board Technical Support Office (GPPB-TSO), and the Human Resource Management Office (HRMO), successfully concluded the two-day Capacity Building Program on February 14, 2025, held at the Tadena Hall.
The program’s core objective was to ensure participants were well-versed in Republic Act 9184, the Government Procurement Act, and the 2016 revised IRR.
Mr. Ryan Milanes, Assistant Regional Director of the Department of Budget and Management – Region I, served as the key resource speaker. He provided in-depth insights into the preparation of crucial procurement documents, including technical specifications, scopes of work, terms of reference, and cost estimates. Participants also gained valuable knowledge on preparing effective bidding documents.
Dr. Fatima F. Rocamora, the BAC Chairperson and Vice President for Research and Extension, delivered her closing remarks, expressing her appreciation for the program’s success and the valuable learnings gained.
Moreover, the Capacity Building Program underscores UNP’s commitment to enhancing the skills and knowledge of its personnel involved in procurement processes, ultimately promoting greater efficiency and effectiveness in their respective roles.
Lastly, by investing in such initiatives, UNP aims to ensure transparent, accountable, and optimized procurement practices in alignment with government regulations.
