DLH brings Filipino heritage to life to celebrate National Arts Month 2025
Culture and arts intertwined on March 10, 2025, as the Department of Languages and Humanities transformed National Arts Month 2025 with a vibrant exhibit celebrating Filipino heritage. Under the direction of Prof. Allen Magdaleno De Vera, Department Head, a captivating display of dolls dressed in traditional attire unveiled the rich diversity of the Philippines. This undertaking not only dazzled visitors but also empowered students to express their artistic voices, embodying the spirit of this year’s theme, “Ani ng Sining, Diwa ng Damdamin.”
Prof. De Vera emphasized the critical role of art in preserving Filipino heritage, noting that the exhibit strengthens national identity and instills pride among participants. The exhibit is a proof that art has a power in shaping societal values and fostering a deeper understanding of one’s roots.
Additionally, this cultural display aligns with the University’s commitment to diversity and inclusion, providing a platform for students to articulate and share cultural narratives meaningfully.
