BSBA-FM program empowers youth leaders of Magsingal through Financial Literacy Education

The College of Business Administration and Accountancy (CBAA) through the Bachelor of Science in Business Administration major in Financial Management (BSBA-FM) program and University Extension Office (UEO) held a training program titled “B.U.S.I.N.E.S.S. IN THE Communities” under the Project Salimetmet on March 9, 2025, at Pagsanaan Norte, Magsingal, Ilocos Sur. The initiative, is part of the program “Financial Stewardship for Young Leaders: Training for Budgeting, Fund Management.”

Ms. Arlette Dian Leal inspired the participants to enhance their financial leadership skills through her keynote speech. The event was led by Dr. Eileen Paculan, project coordinator, Dr. Gilbert P. Valdez Jr. as the organizer, and Dr. Ace Ferrer as the co-organizer. The training was facilitated by Mr. Reymart Regua and Ms. Romelyn Remular, while Ms. Michelle Pacpaco served as the moderator.

A total of twenty-five (25) SK officials and members participated, guided by six faculty members from CBAA. The initiative aimed to promote accountability, good governance, and long-term sustainability within community-driven projects. By equipping young leaders with financial management skills, UNP continues to uphold its mission of developing ethical leaders and promoting good governance through community engagement.

The training aimed to empower Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) officials and members by providing essential financial literacy skills for managing public funds, allocating resources efficiently, and ensuring the sustainability of youth-led projects. The program covered various aspects of financial stewardship, including budgeting, transparent fund management, and strategic financial planning.
