OSAS share best practices with ISU through benchmarking

In a significant move to improve its student services, Isabela State University (ISU) visited UNP’s Office of the Student Affairs and Services for a benchmarking activity on March 14, 2025. Dr. Erwin Cadorna, the University President, and Dr. Rolando Navarro, VP for Academic Affairs, expressed their happiness about the visit, and are looking forward to future collaborations between the two institutions.

The ISU delegation included representatives from the Office of Student Affairs and Services (OSAS) and the Supreme Student Council Federation (SSCF), such as Engr. Edmundo Obiña, OSAS Director, Mr. Christian Guillermo, Chief for Student Development, Mr. Erwin Corpuz, Chief SSCF Adviser, Mr. Lex Cedrix Aquino, SSCF President, and Ms. Apple May Alconcer, ISU Psychometrician.

Dr. Mariano Paterno Avila, OSAS Director at UNP, spearheaded the sharing of the unit’s best practices with the assistance of the heads and assistant heads of the different student services.

This visit was part of ISU’s ongoing efforts to revise its Student Manual, aiming to incorporate the best practices from UNP’s OSAS unit. During the visit, ISU officials gained valuable insights into UNP’s student services, which could lead to improvements in their policies and procedures.

This benchmarking activity reflects a broader trend of inter-institutional collaboration, where universities are increasingly seeking to learn from each other’s strengths to drive innovation and excellence in education. This partnership could mark the beginning of a fruitful and enduring relationship between ISU and UNP, ultimately benefiting their students.
