CPAD students secure top spot in Regional GAD Quiz Bee

Representing the University of Northern Philippines, Jerick Robiñol and Ulysis Paet, students from the College of Public Administration (CPAD), emerged as champions in the Regional Gender and Development (GAD) Quiz Bee on March 25 at the Commission on Higher Education – Regional Office 1 in San Fernando City, La Union.

Competing against 23 HEIs across Region 1, Robiñol and Paet, as coached by Dr. Abelardo Anicas, were able to showcase their knowledge and understanding on gender equality, women’s rights, and other critical GAD concepts, securing a remarkable 123 points out of 150, beating their competitors and bringing pride to UNP.

The said competition is an annual event organized by the Commission on Higher Education-Region 1 (CHED-Region 1) in celebration of National Women’s Month. The event aims to enhance the youth’s understanding of gender issues and empower future leaders to become advocates for equality and inclusivity.

With this remarkable achievement, the UNP-CPAD reaffirms the significant role of the academic community in promoting gender awareness and upholding excellence in competitions.
