On March 25, 2025, the Student Welfare Services Office, headed by Dr. Marifel Acena, along with Ms. Glenny Angellica Barrientos, one of the guidance counselors in the university, assisted in providing mental health consultation for the students from Ilocos Sur Polytechnic State College-Narvacan Campus during the Hear; Here Mental Health Caravan Leg 9, a collaborative activity of the university’s SWSO and BS Psychology program, Provincial Youth Development Office (PYDO), Provincial Health Office, and the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Narvacan.
Along with Dr. Acena and Ms. Barrientos, Mr. Mico Molina and Mrs. Alexandria Blake Real-Pisalbo also served as mental health and psychosocial support providers through free counseling and consultation.
Dr. Acena and Mr. Molina also served as panelists during the talk show conducted in the said event. They shared their insights on various topics concerning mental health, resilience, and stress management.
