After the intense rounds of the PCSMT Quiz Bowl, delegates from various state universities and colleges (SUCs) across the country came together for a vibrant Fellowship Night on April 4 at UNP Tadena Hall. Serving as a joyful bridge to the Chairmanship Turnover Ceremony, the evening celebrated camaraderie, inter-institutional unity, and the enduring spirit of collaboration within the consortium.
Mr. Albert Tejero, UNP-Vice President for Finance and Administration, opened the program by emphasizing that the Fellowship Night was a celebration of both talent and enduring friendships. He encouraged continued collaboration and expressed hope for sustained commitment to PCSMT’s programs and goals.
Dr. Christine Ferrer, Director IV of CHED Regional Office I, former OIC President of Ilocos Sur Polytechnic State College, and outgoing Chairperson of PCSMT, delivered a heartfelt message of gratitude and pride. She appreciated the organizers, PCSMT officers, coaches, and the incoming chair, the University of Northern Philippines.
“PCSMT is one of the organizations very close to my heart,” she shared, thanking everyone for their continued support and participation.
Addressing the student participants, she called them the best of the best from their respective institutions. She also expressed excitement for more innovative activities in the future to uplift the profile of faculty, staff, and students in science, mathematics, and technology education.
Dr. Elbert Edaniol, President of Occidental Mindoro State College, expressed his appreciation for the consortium’s efforts in providing students with platforms to showcase their talents in science, mathematics, and technology. Attending the event for the first time, he stressed that such competitions contribute to curriculum improvement and instructional innovation
Dr. Vicky Agpasa, Vice President for Academic and International Affairs of Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University, congratulated the organizers, quiz masters, consultants, and participants, highlighting the consortium’s vital role in shaping students not only for their careers but also for their broader contributions to national development.
Dr. Silverio Ramon Dela Cruz Salunson, President of Tarlac Agricultural University, highlighted the spirit of unity during the Fellowship Night, he mentioned that knowledge must be applied to solve real-world challenges and that innovation flourishes through collaboration, shared ideas, and the continuous pursuit of excellence. “The future is not something we wait for; it is something we create,” he said, encouraging delegates to inspire one another and use science and technology as tools for progress.
