The UNP Arnis Team delivered a stellar performance at SCUAA-1 2025, securing five gold medals across various categories and asserting their dominance in the traditional Filipino martial art.
In the Padded Combative event, Jansen Tumbaga (Pin Weight), Clarence Joseph Ragasa (Half Light Weight), and Jon Marc Suerte (Light Weight) each showcased their speed and precision, overpowering their opponents to claim gold. Meanwhile, in the Live Stick event, Aeron Jay Velasco (Half Middle Weight) and Marchie Barcellano (Women’s Middle Weight) demonstrated exceptional control and technique, securing two more gold medals for UNP.
Guided by their dedicated coaches Schubert Soliven, Kevin Mel Pacpaco, and Michelle Pacpaco, the UNP Arnis team’s relentless determination and strategic mastery proved crucial in their success. Their victories not only highlight their individual skills but also strengthen UNP’s standing in the overall medal tally.
