CCIT holds Student Research Colloquium

The College of Communication and Information Technology (CCIT) conducted its 2025 Student Research Colloquium on May 9 at the CCIT Library, featuring research presentations from the different group of students of BS Information Technology, BS Computer Science, and Bachelor in Library Information Science programs.

A total of 11 research groups presented their studies before a panel of judges composed of Dr. Shareen Navarro, Prof. Redentor Rojas, and Mr. Joseph Padua. The event served as a platform to showcase the academic and research achievements of CCIT students while fostering a culture of inquiry and innovation.

In a parallel initiative, all groups also took part in an online poster presentation, allowing for wider engagement and a more dynamic showcase of their work. Three studies stood out during the oral presentation, these are “Song of the Ashes: A Narrative Role-Playing Game Based on Traditional Folklore of Vanaw Tribe” by Melchizedek Lou Rainier B. De Vera, Kristien Aree R. Bigornia, Eric John D. Cruz, and Kate Henzley C. Tuazon from the BS in Computer Science program;  “Iskolar: Scholarship and Financial Assistance Services Record Management System” by Zynhel Ashley F. Catandijan, Armancio S. Quitoriano, Charlie Jake G. Rojas, and Denver T. Soliven from BS Information Technology; and “Awareness and Understanding of Intellectual Property Rights among CCJE Students: Basis for Development of Informational Brochure” by John Paul L. Serdenia, Rose Jean C. Esperas, Reyna Jilliana A. Rasco, and James Philippe C. Rivad from BLIS.

Meanwhile, in the online poster presentation, “Pay-Tulod: A Tricycle Hailing Mobile Application for Metro Vigan” and “DynaCaresis: An Integrated Dyna Care Medical Trading Sales and Inventory System” were selected as the best entries.

The best research paper selected during the colloquium will represent the college in the upcoming 9th University Student Research Congress on May 16, at UNP Tadena Hall.
