Hon. Engr. Nestor Pajaro and Hon. Jake Axel Tacadena officially sworn in as the new Alumni Regent and Student Regent of the University of Northern Philippines (UNP), respectively, during a solemn oathtaking ceremony held at the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Central Office on June 17, 2025.
The ceremony was presided over by CHED Commissioner and Board Chairman, Hon. Marita Canapi. The event was also graced by members of UNP’s Board of Regents, including University President Dr. Erwin Cadorna, Hon. Eva Medina, Hon. Aldrina Jaramilla, Faculty Regent, Atty. Gerwin Rabang, BAC Vice Chairman and Board Secretary Atty. Jonalyn Almachar.
Hon. Engr. Nestor Pajaro, recently elected President of the UNP Alumni Association, will now represent the alumni sector on the university’s Board of Regents. Meanwhile, Hon. Jake Axel Tacadena, the newly elected Student Council President, assumes his role as Student Regent, serving as the official voice of the student body in institutional governance and decision-making.
This oathtaking ceremony marks a significant milestone in strengthening student and alumni engagement at UNP. Both regents are expected to bring fresh perspectives and innovative initiatives that will further advance institutional development and enhance student welfare.
