UNP launches Music Therapy Hub

The Medical-Dental Services Office (MDSO), in partnership with the College of Fine Arts and Design (CFAD), officially launched the Music Therapy Hub at the CFAD building on June 20, 2025.

The mental health initiative was spearheaded by Dr. Daune Alden Oandasan, Head of MDSO, and Dr. Ashley Paulino Martinez, Dean of CFAD.

The launch was attended by key individuals including Hon. Nestor Pajaro, UNP Alumni President, Sangguniang Panlalawigan Member Art Constantine Oandasan, Prof. Henryson Fetalvero, Assistant Dean of CFAD, and Dr. Marifel Acena, Head of the Guidance Office.

The Music Therapy Hub offers a welcoming space for students and university personnel to play music and unwind, promoting stress relief and emotional well-being through the therapeutic power of music. It also provides free, peer-led tutorials for those interested in learning new instruments, fostering a collaborative and supportive environment.

Beyond music practice, the hub serves as a community space to connect with others, form new friendships, and build resilience against negative influences. By promoting creativity, self-expression, and balance between academic and personal life, this initiative supports the holistic development of every student.

Through this endeavor, the University underscores its commitment to mental health, student engagement, and personal growth.
