As part of the College of Communication and Information Technology’s (CCIT) commitment to advance digital literacy through Project CONNECT, Mr. Ade John Gestole, faculty of CCIT served as the resource speaker during the National ICT Month celebration of Sinait National High School on June 30, 2025.
Over 200 learners and educators attended the seminar anchored on the theme “Walang Iwanan sa Digital Bayanihan,” highlighting the importance of unity and awareness in the digital age.
Mr. Gestole delivered a talk titled “Cybersafe: Navigating the Digital World Responsibly,” that focused on essential knowledge about cybersecurity and data privacy. He emphasized the need for responsible online behavior and awareness of digital threats, reminding students that vigilance is key in staying safe online. “If it’s too good to be true, it’s probably a scam,” he cautioned. He also encouraged learners to be proactive and vocal when facing online risks, stating, “Speak up. Let your voice be heard.”
The event was made possible through the support and coordination of Dr. Rogelio Rabena, Dr. Mariano Romano Jr., Dr. Harold Costales, Dr. Arpee Arruejo, and Dr. Richard Arruejo, all from CCIT, who guided the program and facilitated the engagement.
This initiative reflects CCIT’s continuing efforts to bring the University’s expertise to local communities, in line with UNP’s vision of being a globally recognized university in a heritage city. Through Project CONNECT, the college remains steadfast in its mission to promote digital empowerment across sectors—ensuring that no one is left behind and are cybersafe in the age of technology.
