Ms. Mary Ann Dela Cruz, Program Head of the Bachelor of Science in Accountancy, was recently elected as one of the Board of Trustees of the National Association of Certified Public Accountants in Education (NACPAE) during the 32nd Accounting Teachers’ Conference held on June 19–21, 2025 at the Newtown Plaza Hotel in Baguio City.
The conference themed “Charting a Sustainable Path for Accounting Education: Competence, Skills, and Values in Action,” gathered accounting educators from across the country to address the evolving needs of the profession.
Dela Cruz expressed both excitement and disbelief at her election, saying she felt honored to represent UNP among a distinguished roster of academic leaders.
The candidacy for the board was opened on the first day of the conference, with aspirants introducing themselves later that day. Out of 11 candidates, nine were elected through secret balloting on the second day. Dela Cruz was thrilled to be among those selected to help steer the future of accounting education in the country.
Her appointment marks a proud moment for UNP and accentuates its growing presence in national academic and professional circles.
NACPAE is a national organization composed primarily of deans and program heads from various higher education institutions in the Philippines. It plays a significant role in promoting the advancement of accounting education and professional development among educators.
