The College of Public Administration, in collaboration with the University Extension Office, successfully conducted an extension activity and formalized a partnership through a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) signing on August 20, 2025 at Sinait, Ilocos Sur.
The event was led by Dr. Lloyd Mata, Director of the University Extension Office; Dr. Cid Javier, OIC-Dean of the College of Public Administration; and Dr. Alma Somera, CPAd Unit Extension Coordinator.
The extension activity commenced in Barangay Nagcullooban, a partner community of UNP-CPAd, where the university extended a simple gift-giving to community members as part of its commitment to community service and social responsibility. This was followed by a lecture for the barangay officials of Barangay Quibit-Quibit, with Dr. Society Salcedo as the resource speaker. The lecture focused on good governance at the barangay level, strengthening local governance, and enhancing community leadership.
The extension activity culminated with the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) between Barangay Quibit-Quibit, led by Punong Barangay Anthony Tumbaga and the members of the barangay council, and the University of Northern Philippines, headed by University President Dr. Erwin Cadorna, represented by Dr. Lloyd Mata, along with CPAd faculty members, UEO staff, and community residents.
The partnership marks a significant step in institutionalizing collaboration on various community development and capacity-building programs.
