UNP Young Artists shine in Culture and Arts Festival Competitions

The University of Northern Philippines showcased the artistic brilliance of its students during the Culture and Arts Festival Competitions held at the College of Technology (CTECH) Function Hall on October 17. As part of the university’s Intramurals celebration, the event included these three contests, the On-the-Spot Poster Making, Pencil Rendering, and Charcoal Drawing, each highlighting the creativity, precision, and passion of young UNPian artists. In the On-the-Spot Poster Making competition, participants expressed their artistry around the theme “Diamond Jubilee,” symbolizing UNP’s 60 years of excellence and legacy.

Jaypee Balanza from the College of Fine Arts and Design (CFAD)(UNIT VI) emerged as the 1st placer, followed by Divina Gracia Domingo from the College of Communication and Information Technology (CCIT) (UNIT II) in second place and Kevin Bolesa from the College of Architecture (CArch) (UNIT III) in third. For the Pencil Rendering contest, participants demonstrated remarkable attention to detail by recreating the iconic Bantay Bell Tower and Saint Augustine Parish Church (Bantay Church). Mikhail Stephen Naszareth Viado from CFAD (UNIT VI) claimed first place, while Louis Gabriele Real from CArch (UNIT III) placed 2nd and Jannie Lynn Gacayan from the College of Business Administration and Accountancy (CBAA) (UNIT IV) secured the third place. Meanwhile, the Charcoal Rendering category challenged the artists to depict the distinguished Mr. Fidel Go, a known for his craftsmanship in burnay-making. Christina Agustin from CFAD (UNIT VI) won first place, followed by Remha Peralta from CBAA (UNIT IV) in second and Russia Iyana Valdez from CArch (UNIT III) in third. The event not only highlighted the depth of artistic talent across colleges but also embodied the university’s spirit of cultural pride and creative excellence—proving that art continues to be a powerful expression of UNP’s heritage and unity.
