The UNP Faculty Union (FU) in cooperation with the College of Technology (CTECH) successfully implemented a Training on Theoretical and Practical Driving for faculty members from November 15 to December 20, 2025, conducted every weekend to ensure accessibility and sustained participation. The activity was carried out as part of CTECH’s extension mandate under Project SAGIP.
The training program was designed to strengthen road safety awareness and driving competence among faculty members, recognizing the importance of responsible mobility in both professional and personal contexts. It provided participants with a balanced learning experience that integrated theoretical instruction and practical application. Lecture discussions focused on traffic laws and regulations, road signs and markings, defensive driving strategies, risk management, and basic vehicle inspection and maintenance, equipping faculty members with a strong foundation in safe driving principles.
Complementing the theoretical component were hands-on driving sessions, where participants applied their learning in real-life driving situations. These practical exercises enhanced participants’ confidence, situational awareness, and decision-making skills on the road, while emphasizing safety, discipline, and compliance with traffic rules.
Throughout the duration of the program, CTECH instructors closely supervised and guided the participants. Their expertise ensured that the training adhered to established safety standards and instructional objectives, while providing personalized feedback to help participants continuously improve their driving skills.
Faculty participants showed active engagement and enthusiasm, reflecting a strong commitment to personal development and road safety advocacy. The weekend schedule allowed sustained participation without disrupting academic responsibilities, further contributing to the program’s success.
Overall, the successful completion of the training program not only enhanced the driving proficiency and safety consciousness of faculty members but also reinforced UNP’s commitment to fostering a culture of responsible citizenship, preparedness, and community-oriented service.
