Strengthening its commitment to cutting-edge criminology education, the College of Criminal Justice Education (CCJE) held a one-day hands-on training and demonstration on the use of a computerized digital polygraph machine on March 19, 2026, at the CCJE Mini Library—equipping faculty with the technical expertise needed to effectively operate newly acquired forensic equipment vital to modern instruction and professional practice.
The training was led by Dr. Jude Thaddeus Bartolome, a technical specialist and Dean of the College of Criminology at National University, who provided in-depth instruction on the operation, maintenance, and accurate interpretation of polygraph examination results. Through a combination of expert guidance and practical demonstration, participants were equipped with essential competencies in utilizing the computerized system. Faculty members engaged actively throughout the session, gaining valuable hands-on experience in operating the equipment and applying key techniques in real-world scenarios.
The initiative also sought to strengthen faculty capability by equipping them with the knowledge, technical expertise, and confidence to seamlessly integrate polygraph technology into both classroom instruction and hands-on training. It highlighted the growing significance of advanced investigative tools in modern criminology education, particularly in sharpening students’ technical skills and ensuring their readiness for the demands of professional practice. Through this effort, the CCJE reaffirmed its commitment to delivering responsive, future-oriented instruction that keeps pace with emerging developments in forensic science and criminal investigation. The CCJE is led by Dean Dr. Sina Bestre.
