CODE conducts Traffic Management Training and Road Safety Campaign during Holy Week

In observance of Holy Week, the College of Open and Distance Education (CODE) held the extension activity “Hands-on Training on Traffic Management and Road Control and Distribution of IEC Materials on Road Safety” from April 2 to 5, 2026, in Sto. Domingo, Ilocos Sur.

Part of CODE’s flagship TARABAY program—specifically the TARABAY–NAINGAT Project—this initiative aligns with the BS Criminology curriculum, promoting community safety and crime prevention. It provided CODE Extensionists with practical field exposure in real-time traffic management amid heightened Holy Week traffic.

Over four days, CODE Extensionists partnered with local authorities to ensure smooth traffic flow, maintain public order, and assist motorists and pedestrians, preventing congestion and boosting safety.

IEC materials on responsible road use, traffic rule adherence, and accident prevention were distributed to raise awareness.

The event succeeded through a renewed Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with Sto. Domingo’s Local Government Unit, highlighting UNP’s commitment to impactful extension services. CODE thus strengthened community ties and prepared socially responsive criminology professionals.
