The University of Northern Philippines through its Medical and Dental Services Office (MDSO) led the “UNP Kontra Dengue: Taob, Tapon, Takip—Sama-sama Para sa Dengue-Free na Campus” on August 27, 2026, around the UNP campus.
The activity aims to strengthen dengue prevention efforts through health education, distribution of informative flyers, and inspection of areas where stagnant water may accumulate and serve as breeding sites for Aedes mosquitoes. The activity promotes proper environmental sanitation among members of the university community.
The dengue-prevention drive supports the university’s continuing efforts to maintain a clean, safe, healthy, and dengue-aware campus. It also provides OJT students with an opportunity to apply their knowledge and skills in health promotion and disease prevention in an actual university setting.
The campaign emphasizes the importance of the “Taob, Tapon, Takip” practice: throwing away items that can hold water, and cover water-storage containers to help prevent mosquito breeding and reduce the risk of dengue transmission.
