Benchmarking to breakthrough: UNP, MSEUF formalize partnership in historic MOA signing

The University of Northern Philippines strengthened its commitment to academic excellence and global engagement as it hosted a benchmarking activity with Manuel S. Enverga University Foundation (MSEUF) on March 19, 2026, at the CTech Function Hall.

The event served as a dynamic platform for institutional collaboration, bringing together academic leaders and administrators to exchange best practices and explore opportunities for partnership. Representing the Instruction and Faculty Development Office, Prof. Lester Aaron highlighted UNP’s innovative approaches to faculty and staff development, emphasizing programs designed to enhance professional growth and instructional effectiveness.

Further enriching the discussions, Dr. Sally Jarin, Director of the International and External Affairs Office, presented the University’s expanding network of local and international linkages, underscoring UNP’s strategic efforts to foster global partnerships. Complementing this, Ar. Julius Artates of the College of Architecture and Built Environment showcased the College’s international collaborations, illustrating its initiatives in advancing globally responsive education.

The program also featured the introduction of UNP officials by Dr. Winnie Calibuso, setting the stage for deeper engagement between the two institutions. On behalf of MSEUF, Vice President for External Relations Mr. Celso Jaballa delivered a message affirming the value of the benchmarking activity and formally introduced the visiting delegation.

The benchmarking initiative marked a significant step toward strengthening institutional ties, fostering knowledge exchange, and advancing shared goals in instruction, research, and internationalization.

Culminating the series of presentations, the University of Northern Philippines and Manuel S. Enverga University Foundation formalized their partnership through the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement, marking a significant step toward strengthened academic collaboration and institutional exchange.

Standing at the forefront of this pivotal partnership are University of Northern Philippines President Dr. Erwin Cadorna and Manuel S. Enverga University Foundation President and Chief Operating Officer Ms. Naila Levereza.

The landmark agreement was witnessed by key officials from both institutions, including Dr. Rolando T. Navarro, UNP Vice President for Academic Affairs; Dr. Benilda S. Villenas, MSEUF Executive Vice President and Vice President for Academics and Research; VP Jaballa; Dr. Claudia Odette A. Ayala, Assistant to the Vice President for Academics and Research; and Ms. Jennifer Reyes, Director of the Global Engagement Office of MSEUF—underscoring a shared commitment to advancing academic excellence, research cooperation, and global engagement initiatives.
