The University of Northern Philippines has achieved another milestone as the Commission on Higher Education officially awarded the Certificate of Program Compliance (COPC) to the Bachelor of Science in Sanitary Engineering program of the College of Engineering.

The awarding of the COPC held during the flag ceremony on January 20, 2025 marks a significant step in commitment to providing the university’s quality education and addressing the growing demand for skilled sanitary engineers in the country.

The COPC serves as a formal recognition that the Bachelor of Science in Sanitary Engineering program meets the quality assurance requirements of the Commission on Higher Education. It ensures that the program adheres to standards in curriculum design, faculty qualifications, facilities and support services.

The Bachelor of Science in Sanitary Engineering program of the UNP College of Engineering is designed to equip students with the knowledge and skills to tackle problems related to water supply, wastewater treatment, solid waste management, and environmental sustainability.

The Certificate of Program Compliance of the BSSE program was handed by UNP President, Dr. Erwin Cadorna, assisted by Dr. Rolando Navarro, Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Luzviminda Relon, Director for Instruction and Faculty Development, and Dr. Eva Marie Avila, Director for Quality Assurance, to the College of Engineering headed by Dr. Nelia Verzosa, Dean, assisted by Engr. Gaylord Frando, Assistant Dean, and Engr. Christy Faye Gasmen, BSSE Program Head.

With this latest milestone, the College of Engineering reaffirms its goal to produce engineers imbibed with values, fully equipped with knowledge and skills that conform to international standards.
