Forum discusses alternative child care
In celebration of World Social Work Day with the theme “Buen Vivir: Shared Future for Transformative Change,” the College of Social Work, in collaboration with the Regional Alternative Child Care Office 1, led a forum for Adoption and Alternative Child Care on March 21, 2024.
The said activity provided valuable information that would assist students to deepen learning on Adoption and Alternative Child Care in preparation for their actual practice in the future.
Ms. Rosalie D. Preclaro, a social worker from the National Authority for Child Care, discussed Republic Act No. 11222 or the Simulated Birth Rectification Act of 2019 and Intercountry Adoption.
Ms. Ms. Jasmine Jet E. Dagdag, a social worker from the Regional Alternative Child Care Office (RACCO), talked on the alternative child care programs, domestic administrative adoption, and certification declaring a child legally available for adoption process.
Students were also given an opportunity to clarify concerns and inquire about the said topics during the open forum led by Ms. Lineth P. Velasco, also a social worker from RACCO.
Mr. Albert R. Tejero, Vice President for Finance and Administration attended the said activity, accompanied by Prof. Melody T. Gacita, Dean, College of Social Work, as well as the faculty members of the said unit.
